In another "backwards saying" Jesus probes how one finds life apart from one's self-interest and self-protection. In a giving of one's self and in a relationship with God there is fulfillment. But does this phrase talk about a "trade" of one's own life in exchange for God's eternal life? And does that mean a meriting of eternal life, or paying for one's salvation?
